the candle burns bright even though its’ life is at stake
and the fire that burns this wick of life
also keeps us safe
there’s a flame in you that burns me where I live
may not tell you what you wanna hear
but I can tell you what it is
you burn and I am consumed
you burn and I am consumed

mosquito lands even though her life is at stake
to drink your blood she’d risk her wicked life
innocent of her wicked way
she has a gift for you that her need conceals
doesn’t know just what she thinks
but she knows what she feels
you bleed and I am consumed
you bleed and I am consumed

a spider spins a web with no guarantee
to live she must build and wait and see
she has wisdom for you woven in vain
and she never questions what to do
when she lands her prey

mosquito lands in the spider’s web of guise
she swallows you from mosquito’s body down
one to live one to die
and I am filled with jealousy and yearning
both of them consume you
and my candle goes on burning
you burn and I am consumed
you burn and I am consumed
